Water Damaged Phone? Don't Rely On Rice

Whatever the circumstance (we've heard it all), fluid damaged appliances are regular attendees to our store. There is a lot of good information on the web about what you should do if this happens to you, but there is also a lot of bad. This is the web after all. The worst thing you can do is try to power on the device, even if you have had it in a bag of rice for any length of time.

Now, we are not saying that putting your phone in to a bag of uncooked rice (or couscous, as one particularly posh customer once claimed as they didn't have rice to hand) is not going to do some good, we are saying that it really isn't worth the risk. Besides the financial cost of replacing an expensive gadget, there may also be invaluable data which you don't want to lose. On many occasions we have managed to repair a phone just enough to at least get the data off of it.

Fluid will still be present inside the appliance regardless of what you do to its exterior. It compresses against parts inside the appliance and is impossible to dry out without opening it up to let it 'breath'. We enjoy a high success rate of repairs to fluid damaged appliances and our prices are extremely fair and, more importantly, we do not charge for our initial inspection! We open up the device in front of you (where possible) and show you the extent of the damage before we attempt any work. Our honest nature and no fix, no fee policy means you have nothing to lose by letting us take a look at the very least.
